We have built a prop in back of our station for doing ventulation, Force Entry, Wall Breeching, Denver Drill, and numours other training aides. We have it disassembled right now due to a contract company the City Hall has redoing the front and back yards of the City Hall but as soon as they are done and we get it put back up I will get you some photos. Also hopefully we will be moving out of the City Hall into your own Station by next year since we got property now and just waiting for bugdet time to see if we can get our own station since we are actually a County Dept. being housed in with the City Hall and City Police Dept.. If you get the station then we will have a actual training tower also built on the property and then we will also still keep the prop just as another training aide.

the county training facility has this weird outward swinging door. I'll try to explain it. In the area a mortise lock would be in the door, is this spring loaded slab that can move perpendicular to the jam. The "lock" is this screw type device that you adjust for toughness.

From using it, it appears the screw device affects how hard it is to move the floating slab area. When the floating slab moves enough, the door opens. Doesn't really help you set the tool, because the door was used so much you could just slip the fork or adz in, but you did get to practice prying I guess.

the best thing I ever got to use was a vacant house with a piece of metal that spans the door and the frame. it has holes for the instructor to put in screws. More screws, tougher to force. They can put the peice of metal anywhere or use multiple ones to simulate different lock placements. That was nice because it was like forcing a real door, becuase it was a real door. That was fun, but the only problem being vacants with good doors aren't all to plentifull and you only get a few uses out of the door before you distort it enough to were placement isn't difficult at all or possible.

Thats a link to the Charlotte fire department CPAT test. Thats the forcible entry simulator. I dont know much about it, but i know you have to knock it in a certain amount and when you do a buzzer goes off. i just thought it was interesting.
