We had a simular break with our Holmatro cutters a couple of years ago, but no injuries and it was during training.

Kyle managed to break the blade on our holmatro cutters during his very first jaws training. Was kinda proud of him though, he dropped the cutters and picked up the combi tool and kept right on going.

Cue the gear manufacturers to have NFPA mandate any gear used on extrication has to be able to withstand a broken cutter blade.

See, this is why I don't piss and moan about being required to be in gear while on the medic when there's an MVC, even while you aren't anywhere near the extrication process. I get tired of hearing people complain about it. I may look like a blueberry, but I'll be a safe blueberry dammit. I'll be safe and follow the SOP's, you can take your chances with injuries, and with brass finding out.
