You are aware that one of the biggest markets for South Carolina merchandise is in San Francisco.

Ah...UVA. "Tender White Meat" as the legendary Clemson Coach Frank Howard called 'em. (He was 11-0 vs Virginia.)

One of my favorite lines from Coach Howard, and he was known for his gift of gab, was when he talked about practicing in Charlottesville before the annual win against UVA one year. This older gentleman walked up and said "Howard, we got your number this year." Coach Howard replied "Your Granddaddy thought the same thing when he was your age."


I really try to pull for Virginia, but it's hard when the majority of their fans think they started playing football in the early 1990's. It's especially hard with a never accomplished anything loudmouth head coach like Al "Chessmaster" Groh. Ask him about his head coaching job on Halloween in 1981. But the real reason I find it hard to take Virginia seriously is their losing record to South Carolina in football.
